An introduction to Skin Rejuvenation
Unwanted marks – Vascular and pigmented lesions
Unwanted marks such as pigmentation caused by sun damage, benign vascular lesions, erythema, rosacea and broken veins can be safely and effectively treated with the Harmony laser. The Harmony laser can also treat fine lines, wrinkles and mild acne. Leaving your skin rejuvenated – looking and feeling better, with a more youthful look.
How does the Harmony Laser work for you?
Harmony laser pulsed light energy is precisely absorbed by the target areas, without damaging healthy skin. Selective heating and closing off blood vessels, Harmony pulsed light reduces the lesions, while sparing nearby tissue from injury. With pigmented lesions, the light energy heats the melanin in the lesion and causes it to fragment. The melanin fragments are then absorbed by the body and eliminated. By [providing smooth consistent light pulses, the energy delivered to the skin is gentle and effective. The Harmony laser also causes very controlled mild trauma which helps to stimulate Fibroblasts in the dermis of the skin, stimulating the skins own natural collagen and elastin making the skin fresher and tighten to rejuvenate the look of your skin.

FAQs
What are benign vascular and pigmented lesions?
Benign vascular lesions, red in colour, are caused by an abnormal clustering of blood vessels. Pigmented lesions which are less widespread are clusters of melanin in the skin and are brown in colour. While some lesions may fade, others become more pronounced over time.
What should I expect?
Patients will consult with one of our laser skin specialists to determine their course of treatment plans according to the characteristics, such as size and location of each patient’s lesions. Some lesions can be treated within 30-45 minutes but for optimum results a course of up to 2-6 treatments is required. Before treatment a cold gel is usually applied to the area to be treated. Then the specialist will deliver precise pulses of light to the target area. Patients report little or no pain with Harmony treatment and can return to their normal activities immediately.
Is it safe?
Harmony’s high levels of light and gentle energy parameters, assures safe and effective treatment. Uniquely shaped light pulses precisely heat their intended targets causing remarkably little or no skin damage or discomfort. This optimal use of energy both increases safety and eliminates the need for extra cooling methods.
Does it hurt?
While pain tolerance is an individual matter, most people tolerate Harmony light treatment very well and describe the sensation as a rubber band snap to the skin.
