Electrolysis is the removal of unwanted hair in primarily very small areas that are difficult to remove by other recognised methods
An introduction to Electrolysis
In The Henley Clinic we use the galvanic method of Electrolysis. This method works by using a direct current of electricity. When the needle is inserted, the electricity travelling down the needle causes the salt and water in the skin around the probe to be chemically altered. Salt, water and electricity combine to produce a small amount of sodium hydroxide. The sodium hydroxide works to damage the cells that cause hair growth.

FAQs
What can I expect?
Prior to treatment an anaesthetic cream can be applied although there is minimal pain in this process. A wire filament is the inserted into the hair follicle, which is completely painless, once the filament is inserted into the hair follicle the skin specialist delivers a minute electric current through the filament to the hair follicle, the latter being the aspect that may cause a slight stinging sensation/pain.
How many treatments will I need?
Treatment sessions generally are short, around 15-30 minutes and the optimum treatment areas are small areas of whitish hair around the face. To obtain optimal laser hair removal a course of treatments are generally required.
